Autumn / Winter Tableau

In September, The Call of Things shifts into its Autumn/Winter version, reflecting shorter days and deeper colour.

For the Autumn/Winter sequence, the artists re‑edit their year of footage so that the focus moves towards later light, bare branches and saturated autumn tones. Views of trees, gardens and riverside scenes are cut with glimpses of cranes, towers and reflections, bringing together London’s built and natural elements as the year winds down.

The soundscape adjusts too, with a slightly darker, more spacious mix that still includes field recordings like birdsong and bells but leaves more room for quiet. The result is a steady backdrop that matches the changing atmosphere outside, for people to notice as they move through.
